FAIB Licensed First Aid Training Providers in Dorset
These Terms & Conditions apply to all courses and training sessions provided by First Years First Aid Limited. By making a booking, you agree to these terms.
First Years First Aid Limited is a Dorset-based FAIB licensed first aid training provider offering first aid courses for individuals, parents, carers, businesses, schools, childcare settings, foster agencies and community groups.
Bookings can be made by website enquiry, email, phone or direct arrangement with us.
A booking is confirmed once we have accepted the booking and either payment, deposit or written confirmation has been received, depending on the type of course. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide accurate booking details, including names, contact details, course required, number of learners, venue details and any relevant access or learning needs.
Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Unless otherwise agreed:
We understand that plans can change. Please tell us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange a course.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, our cancellation terms are:
Where possible, we will try to offer a reasonable alternative date.
If you are booking as a private consumer online, by email or by phone, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking.
If the course is due to take place within the 14-day cancellation period, you agree that we may begin providing the service before the end of that period. If you cancel after training has already taken place, or after we have started providing the service at your request, you may still be charged for the service provided.
If you are unsure whether this applies to you, please contact us before booking.
We may occasionally need to cancel or rearrange a course due to circumstances outside our control, including trainer illness, unsafe weather, venue issues, low learner numbers, or other unexpected events.
If we cancel a course, we will offer either:
We are not responsible for additional costs you may incur, such as travel, accommodation, childcare, lost earnings or time off work.
Learners must arrive on time and attend the full course to be eligible for assessment and certification, where certification applies.
Some first aid courses require practical participation, including CPR practice, recovery position and other physical activities. Learners should tell us before the course if they have any medical condition, injury, pregnancy-related concern, disability or other need that may affect participation.
We will make reasonable adjustments where possible, but this may depend on the course requirements and awarding body rules.
Certificates are issued only where the learner has attended the required course hours, taken part in the required activities, and met the assessment requirements. We cannot guarantee that every learner will pass. Where a learner does not meet the required standard, we will explain the next steps where possible.
Certificates may be provided digitally or in printed form, depending on the course and awarding body requirements. Replacement certificates may incur an administration fee.
We aim to provide clear, practical and up-to-date first aid training in line with the relevant course requirements. Course content may vary depending on the type and length of course booked.
Short awareness sessions, such as our 90-minute Baby and Child First Aid course, are designed to build confidence and awareness, but may not provide the same level of certification as a regulated or workplace first aid qualification.
It is the customer’s responsibility to choose the correct course for their needs. Businesses and organisations remain responsible for deciding what first aid provision is appropriate for their workplace or setting.
For group or workplace bookings, the customer is responsible for providing a suitable training space unless we have agreed to provide the venue. The training space should be clean, safe, warm, well-lit and large enough for practical first aid training.
The training space must include and allow us access to AV equipment, such as a projector and screen, TV or monitor, with the appropriate cables required for our presentation.
The customer must also ensure that learners are available for the full course time and that the agreed number of learners does not exceed the maximum course number.
If our trainer arrives and the venue is unsuitable, unsafe or unavailable, we may need to cancel the course and the full fee may still be payable.
We want our courses to be friendly, respectful and supportive. We reserve the right to remove a learner from a course if their behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate. In this situation, no refund will usually be given.
We will provide training with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by incorrect use of first aid skills after the course, or by learners acting outside the training provided.
We hold appropriate insurance for the training services we provide. Details can be provided on reasonable request.
We collect and use personal information to manage bookings, deliver training, issue certificates, keep training records and communicate with customers. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information about how we collect, use and store personal information.
We will not use photographs or videos of learners for marketing without permission. If photos are taken during a course, consent will be requested first. Learners may say no without it affecting their training.
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please contact us as soon as possible so we can try to resolve the issue.
